About Me
You can call me Emma or Bees!
Please use she/her pronouns for me
I've been cosplaying since 2014
I'm based in Minnesota! I attend Anime Fusion and CONvergence every year, and try out other nearby conventions when I can
My most active fandoms right now are Vocaloid, NDRV3, and One Piece, with honorable mentions for Genshin Impact and Homestuck
I have a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering with a minor in astrophysics! Ask me for a space fact any time
I work full time as an engineer in the aerospace industry. I love what I do, so I don't plan on making cosplay my job - this is 100% a hobby for me!
I do not take commissions. However, I am open to craft trades if you're in the Twin Cities area! Shoot me a message and we might be able to work something out
Fun fact: Bees is a nickname that came from the Skyrim language Dovahzul, where the word for multiple bees is ‘eme’ which sounds similar to 'Emma'
501 Cosplay Panel Links
I portrayed Kaito Momota in a NDRV3 panel series that you can watch on youtube!
Some fun extras
An ever-growing list of resources pertaining to Southwest Asian culture, history, and current events. This is also a repository for research I am doing for my Kaveh cosplay build, because it is important to recognize the real world impact on the stories we enjoy, and vice versa.
Informational website on the history of Palestine
Randomized + vetted GoFundMe campaigns for families in Gaza
PDF downloads of Edward Said's books "Orientalism" and "The Question of Palestine". Must reads for any westerner interested in studying Asia (especially Southwest Asia).
30 minute Dutch language documentary on Maryam Entezami's recreations of ancient Persian clothing free on youtube. I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys historical costuming youtubers (Nicole Rudolph/Cathy Hay/Bernadette Banner/etc.) or anyone interested in learning a bit more about the history of women's clothing in Iran.
Wiki entry of various Persian fashion terms on Encyclopaedia Iranica. Note that there is a LARGE amount of variation due to dialect/language, so these words are likely one of many terms for the same thing (for example: Šalvār/Salwar/Shalwar or Gīva/Giveh/Giwah)
Twitter thread on components of Genshin Impact character Kaveh's design that are inspired by Iranian culture. This user has several other great informative threads about Sumeru.
Database containing feather specimens from 1000s of birds. Used while researching Kaveh's feather.
